 Kennels Minimize

Our kennels are newly constructed, climate controlled, and sanitary.  The walls and floors are sealed, and the runs are divided with concrete walls.  Each run has a door that leads from the inside run to the outside run (shown at right).

Pets have access to graveled play areas equipped with paddling pools for your pets to cool off on hot days. Pets are turned out 3 times a day for exercise.  The garden areas are secure; all gates lock, and the fence footings are sealed in concrete, so mischievous pets cannot dig their way out.

The owner of Happy Hounds lives on-site, so your pets will be supervised even in the off-hours.

BOARDING REQUIREMENTS

Reservations are required for boarding your pet.  Reservations are made on a first-come, first-serve basis, so call ahead early to guarantee availability.

For the health and safety of all our pets, all dogs and cats must be current on their vaccinations, and be free of flea and ticks.  Proof of vaccinations will be required when you drop your pet off.   No pet will be admitted without proof of vaccinations. Owners are advised to have their pets vaccinated  a couple of weeks before boarding. No owner vaccinated dogs allowed.

Dogs must be vaccinated against rabies, DLHP/parvo, and bordetella (also known as "kennel cough").

Cats must be vaccinated against rabies, FVRP, feline leukemia, and feline bordetella.

If flea or tick infestation is observed, your pet will be treated accordingly in our grooming facility. The owner will be charged for treatments.

FEEDING

We feed Doctors Foster & Smith, a high quality pet supplement.  You may also bring your own preferred brand, to avoid a change in diet.  Pets are fed twice a day (morning and evening) and fresh water is always made available.

YOUR PET'S HEALTH

We have a working relationship with Rhea County Animal Hospital, which is located right across the street.  If your pet has an emergency, we'll immediately seek medical care.  In non-emergency situations, we'll attempt to contact you prior to seeking medical treatment.  Please note that the pet owner will be responsible for any veterinary fees incurred.

If your pet requires any sort of medication while staying with us, we'll be happy to administer it.  Please provide instructions from your veterinarian to avoid any confusion.
